You will have to hit them twice in order to break them. However, you get the highest number of points to smash bricks of this type in Break the Bricks. The third and last type of bricks is unbreakable bricks. You can't break this type of brick no matter how many times you hit it with the ball.

In addition to the different types of bricks, you are offered various items in Break the Bricks as well which fall down when you smash bricks of the normal variety. The order in which these items fall is random, though. Each item has a different power to grant you. You need to collect the item to avail the power it has in store for you. For instance, collecting a small blue orb will shorten the size of the baffle on which the ball is to be bounced while collecting a large blue orb is going to double the baffle's size. If you collect a green orb, you will get to catch the ball on the baffle and then decide the direction in which it is to be released. You will get a glowing ball capable of breaking bricks without bouncing if you manage to collect the golden orb.
